§ Mr. SoamesThe joint rapid deployment force will strengthen the UK's capability to project effective military forces rapidly worldwide in support of our interests. It will be capable of contributing to a wide range of operations, whether mounted nationally or as part of the UK's contribution to those mounted by NATO, the Western European Union or the UN.
