In addition, over this period, the Housing Corporation has also approved home ownership incentive schemes which release existing social rented homes for reletting.
The Housing Corporation's approved development programme for 1996–97, which excludes local authority HAG, provides for between 21,300 and 26,100 project approvals for new rented housing in England. In addition, the Housing Corporation estimates that there will be a further 18,500 to 21,700 ADP approvals in 1996–97 including home ownership incentive schemes. Additional lettings will result from local authority support for housing associations.
