§ Mr. WattsOn 26 April 1996, the Franchising Director announced that he had selected Prism Rail plc as preferred bidder for the LTS rail franchise. Prism plans to bring new rolling stock, lower levels of subsidy and other significant passenger benefits to the line. A formal announcement on the award of the franchise is expected to be made soon.
