Friend has announced that he intends to make a draft order under section 36 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 indicating his intention to designate the Menai strait as a marine nature reserve. Notices concerning the draft order, in accordance with the requirements of schedule 12 of the 1981 Act, will appear in local and national newspapers in the near future.
