To ask the Secretary of State for Transport when the second Severn crossing will be officially opened for traffic. [22813]

Letter from Lawrie Haynes to Mr. Paul Flynn, dated 25 March 1996: I have been asked by the Secretary of State for Transport to reply to your recent Parliamentary Question asking when the Second Severn Crossing will be officially opened for traffic. The Concessionaire, Severn River Crossing Plc, have announced that the official opening ceremony will take place on 5 June 1996. It is expected that the crossing will be open to traffic on the following day.
