The commissioners have had detailed discussions with dioceses about how quickly they expect to be able to raise the full costs of pension contributions and the response has been very encouraging. The General Synod has given general approval to draft legislation to give effect to the arrangements. This legislation is now in the revision stage and will come before Parliament in due course in the usual way.
