§ Mrs. Browning[holding answer 21 March 1996]: The conditions of appointment of local veterinary inspectors are kept under review. I refer the hon. Gentlemen to the answer that I gave him on 30 January 1996, Official Report, columns 696–97, which outlined the safeguards to ensure that high standards of veterinary certification are maintained. I have no immediate plans to change the conditions of appointment of LVIs.
