HC Deb 25 March 1996 vol 274 c399W
Mr. Stern

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will call for, and publish, a cost-benefit analysis on the work of the Government office for the south-west. [22355]

Sir Paul Beresford

The GOSW's programme and running cost expenditure for 1994–95, objectives and achievements, are contained in the office's annual report, which I have arranged to be sent to the hon. Member. For 1995–96, the office's running cost budget is £7.6 million. Details are available in GO-MINIS1, a copy of which is in the Library of this House.

The office's annual report for 1995–96 and GO-MINIS2 with details of Government office running costs budgets for 1995–96 will be available in due course. I believe that the Government office, operating within the rigorous framework of the GO-MINIS exercise, provides good value for money.
