§ Mr. DonohoeTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what powers local planning authorities have to seek to amend the terms of permitted development orders. [21047]
§ Mr. KynochThe Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (Scotland) Order 1992 is a statutory instrument and so planning authorities do not have powers to seek amendments. However, like anyone else, planning authorities are free to suggest amendments and their suggestions are given careful consideration. With their practical experience in the day-to-day operation of the planning system, planning authorities' views on planning legislation are always welcome.
