§ Lord James Douglas-Hamilton[holding answer 18 March 1996]: The information required is set out in the table for 1975–76 to 1994–95. Only expenditure on grants to local authorities for specific schemes is included. Grant aid to the majority of local authorities roads construction and improvement activity is subsumed within revenue support grant. Information for grants to local authorities for specific schemes from 1975–76 to 1983–84 for roads could be provided only at disproportionate cost.
