Mr. John Marshall

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what buildings are currently rented by the European Parliament; and what buildings are being built for it. [20987]

The European Parliament currently rents the following buildings:

  • in Luxembourg:
    • BAK building
    • NHE building
    • Schuman building
      • 12
    • Senningerberg building
    • Tower building
  • in Strasbourg:
    • palais de l'Europe
    • IPE O, IPE I, IPE II, IPE III
  • in Brussels:
    • Belliard I, Belliard II, Belliard III and Belliard IV
    • Eastman building
    • Remorqueur building
    • Remard building
    • Van Maerlant building
    • D 1, D 2 and D 3 buildings

A new building complex is under construction in Brussels. It should be completed by May 1997.

A second building is under construction in Strasbourg, and is due for completion by the end of 1997.
