To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many people were employed in each of the last five years at Lunar house in Croydon; what were the changes in the volume of work at Lunar house over the same period; and if he will make a statement. [21531]

The number of staff in the non-immigration service directorates of the immigration and nationality department who are based in Croydon, including Lunar house, are as follows:

  • 1.03.92: 1,691
  • 13.12.92: 1,869
  • 31.12.93: 2,102
  • 31.12.94: 2,132
  • 31.12.95: 2,105
