To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment when the last national survey of the condition of school buildings was undertaken by her Department; and when further such surveys are planned. [20567]

The last national survey by the Department that included information on the condition of school buildings was undertaken in 1986 and published in 1987 as the "Survey of School Buildings".

There are no plans for another exercise of this type in the immediate future.
