§ Mr. AltonTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what representations he has received from Mr. Mohammed Al Fayed concerning the Immigration and Asylum Bill; when he intends to respond; and if he will place the correspondence in the Library. [19805]
§ Miss Widdecombe[holding answer 12 March 1996]: Mr. Al Fayed wrote to me on 14 February suggesting that the Bill would restrict the rights and freedoms of immigrants irrespective of how long they had lived and worked here. I shall send a reply shortly explaining that such concerns are groundless. I will place a copy of the correspondence in the Library.
