§ Mr. Gwilym JonesNo reliable estimates are available, but work carried out by the Forestry Commission and the Countryside Council for Wales suggests there are about 50 red squirrels. Subject to the outcome of a local consultation exercise, the Forestry Commission and the Countryside Council for Wales intend carrying out a trial project designed to bring about the recovery of Anglesey's red squirrel population.
