§ Mr. NorrisInformation on the total amount claimed is not held by the Department and is not readily available from the International Oil Pollution Compensation Fund. Records produced by the fund indicate that 1,950 claims have been made, some 1,700 or about 85 per cent. of these claims have been agreed and some 1,500 or about 75 per cent. have been paid. To date, £46.9 million has been paid.
