§ Mr. Clappison[holding answer 8 March 1996]: The Department has received about 3,000 representations to date. Almost all have been inspired by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds' campaign, which urges members to write in support of the Bill. The majority of the representations dealt with reflect that view.
