HC Deb 07 March 1996 vol 273 cc341-2W
Mr. Barry Field

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will set out the rules governing qualification for reinvestment relief relating to the percentage shareholding of any subsidiary companies and any overseas subsidiary companies; and if he will set out the relationship between these rules and the Government's policy drive for exports. [18905]

Mr. Jack

A company must not control, or own directly or indirectly, more than 50 per cent. of the share capital of any company which is not a qualifying subsidiary. There is no relationship between these rules and exports from the United Kingdom.
