HC Deb 06 March 1996 vol 273 cc272-3W
Mr. Tony Banks

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what monitoring he has undertaken of the culling methods of red deer on the Balmoral and Dalnadamph estates. [17900]

Mr. Raymond S. Robertson

[holding answer 1 March 1996]: The Red Deer Commission provides advice to land owners and their representatives in Scotland on deer matters and the Commission has been involved in discussions from time to time in connection with the Balmoral and Dalnadamph estates. In addition, the Deer (Scotland) Act 1959 prescribes the permitted methods for culling red deer in Scotland.
