Friend the Under-Secretary of State for Science and Technology on 10 May 1995,Official Report, columns 517–18 and the answer my hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State for Trade and Industry gave to the hon. Member for Wallsend (Mr. Byers) on 27 February 1996, Official Report, column 459. On 11 November 1995, my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister announced a full UK arms embargo against Nigeria and, subsequently, on 20 November the European Union introduced a full scope arms embargo against the country.
