HC Deb 05 March 1996 vol 273 c102W
Mr. Bennett

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the Environment Agency's policy in relation to the continued authorisation of industrial processes operated by companies which have failed to implement solutions to pollution problems within the time scale agreed with the agency or with a predecessor authority. [18871]

Mr. Clappison

Without prejudice to its powers under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 to vary an authorisation, the Environment Agency will require the operators to meet the conditions in their authorisations issued by it or its predecessor authorities.
