§ Mr. NorrisThe Government support the concept of car sharing and brought forward the Transport Act 1980 which legalised non-profit-making car sharing schemes. Following the 1980 Act, the Department of Transport issued advice which, amongst other points, covered the calculation of the sharing of costs with regard to the relevant requirements of the Inland Revenue and the insurance companies.
