§ Mrs. Angela Knight[holding answer 27 February 1996]: The latest available information from the labour force survey shows that in summer—June to August—1995, there were 1,739,000 temporary employees in the United Kingdom. Of these, 182,000 said that they were agency temping. No information is available about the number of temporary employees supplied by employment agencies under contracts of service.
