§ 18. Mr. CousinsTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many inquiries into transfer pricing abuses have been carried out in the last three years; and what estimate he can give of revenues recovered. [33424]
§ Mr. JackThe Inland Revenue keeps multinational companies' tax affairs under constant scrutiny and any evidence of non-compliance with the transfer pricing legislation is carefully investigated. In the last three years inquiries by the Revenue's head office international specialists generated more than £500 million additional tax. Further significant amounts of tax were generated by work in the Revenue's oil taxation office and its local office.
