§ Mr. CurryProfessor Malcolm Grant, the current deputy chairman of the Local Government Commission for England, has been appointed chairman of the commission with effect from 1 July 1996 when Sir David Cooksey's term of appointment is completed. To retain the current membership of seven commissioners a new member has been appointed, Mr. Robin Gray, who takes up post on the same day.
