The Secretary of State for Transport has asked me to reply to your Question about the Marine Safety Agency's proposed Code of Safe Practice for Fishing Vessels under 12m in length.208WThe technical standards in the Code are almost complete and consultation with the fishing industry on how the Code should be implemented is still underway. The consultation process will encompass the timescale for implementing the Code and the means of applying it. A statement will be made when agreement is reached with the fishing industry.
