§ Mr. EggarThe only UK objective 1 programme that is already completed covered Northern Ireland. It is estimated to have contributed an additional 3.6 per cent. to Northern Ireland gross domestic product and created an additional 10,000 jobs by 1993.
Interim evaluations of the three objective 1 programmes which began in 1994, including that for the Scottish highlands and islands, are under way.
