To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment (1) what guidance is given to(a) local education authorities, (b) school governors and (c) head teachers on establishing and strengthening links between home and school; [33085]

The updated parents charter emphasised the importance of effective partnerships between parents and schools. This has been repeated in guidance on such matters as pupil behaviour and discipline, and special educational needs.
