HC Deb 18 June 1996 vol 279 cc440-1W
Mrs. Dunwoody

To ask the Attorney-General on how many occasions in the last five years a charge of manslaughter has been brought as a result of a driving offence. [32802]

Mr. Maclean

I have been asked to reply.

The information available to me shows that 64 manslaughter charges were brought in England and Wales during the period 1990 to 1994, following the commission of a motoring offence.

Information for 1995 is not yet available.
