§ Mr. MacleanNo information is currently collected centrally on conviction rates across all European countries. My Department is participating in a Council of Europe initiative to collect such information and other crime and criminal justice statistics for all member states. The first limited results from this study have been made available in the "Draft Sourcebook on Crime and Criminal Justice Statistics" published earlier this year, a copy of which is in the Library.
