§ Sir John WheelerThe population in the catchment area of the Ulster hospital has grown from 207,000 in 1961 to 257,000 in 1991. The population of the municipal borough of Bangor in 1961 was 24,000. The population 341W of this area has since increased to 54,000. In 1961 there were no population forecasts made at the level of geographical disaggregation requested.
