§ Lord James Douglas-HamiltonThe provisional number of abortions performed in Scotland under the Abortion Act 1967 in 1995 was 11,136; the rate per 1,000 women aged 15–44 was 10.1. None of the abortions performed in Scotland in 1995 resulted in the death of the pregnant woman.
