§ Mr. Boswell[pursuant to his reply 22 April 1996, Official Report, column 51]: Agriculture Ministers are required, under section 62 (3) of the Medicines Act 1968, to consult the Veterinary Products Committee before making an order and, under section 16(9)(a) of the Food and Environment Protection Act 1985, to consult the Advisory Committee on Pesticides before making an order. There is no requirement to consult our other advisory non-departmental public bodies prior to legislative proposals or to publish our response to advice supplied by them, or the Veterinary Products Committee.
