Of these, 1,669 were in manufacturing industry and the remaining 576 in other activities ranging from construction work to catering. Information is not available to distinguish between male and female employment.

Monitoring information compiled for the Department of Environment indicates that, by March 1995, 33 industrial and commercial establishments, 405W employing a total of 2,245 people, were located on designated enterprise zone sites. No information is available on the number of full-time employees recruited since these companies commenced business in the zone.
