To ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will place in the Library a copy of the BZW research paper, "The Cash Generator". [30454]

[holding answer 22 May 1996]: The BZW research paper on British Energy, "The Cash Generator" was produced by BZW Research, an affiliate of Barclays de Zoete Wedd Securities Ltd., as part of its internal research activity and was not produced on behalf of the Government. The Financial Services Act 1986 restricts the widespread distribution of this type of analysts' research. It is available to clients of BZW Research and other persons falling within FSA exemptions. Consequently, it is for BZW and its legal advisers to determine whether it would be appropriate for a copy to be placed in the Library of the House.
