§ Mr. HagueI have had no consultations with ambulance NHS trusts on border changes or mergers. All NHS trusts, including ambulance trusts, are monitored regularly by my Department to ensure financial viability. For 1996–97, I have asked health authorities to make 3 per cent. efficiency savings across Wales which will be reflected in the contracts which they strike with all trusts.
