Letter from Peter Mathison to Mr. Hugh Bayley, dated 23 July 1996: 588W
The Secretary of State for Social Security has asked me to reply to your recent Parliamentary Question asking how many people used in Benefits Agency's (BA's) information services in North Yorkshire in each year since 1992–93.The information is not available in the format requested. I have assumed that the reference to Benefits Agency Information Services is about the Mobile Information Unit (MIU) covering the BA District of North Yorkshire. This District has offices in York, Harrogate, Northallerton, Richmond, Selby, Malton and Ripon. Figures for the number of people who used the service were kept from 1994/95 only and are shown below:1994–95: 2,3041995–96: 2,642Figures are provisional and subject to change.I hope you find this reply helpful.
