Mr. Cox

To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many joint ventures are currently established between the NHS and the private sector in hospitals covering the Greater London area; and if he will list each project and hospital involved. [37858]

Mr. Horam

There are eight schemes currently completed or under way in the Greater London area— London boroughs included—that have gone forward under the private finance initiative. A number of other joint ventures are established for schemes which have not yet had full business case approval. Information is shown in the table.
