HC Deb 24 July 1996 vol 282 c522W
Mr. Rendel

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if the investigation by the Committee on Medical Aspects of Radiation in the Environment into the incidence of childhood cancer in the West Berkshire and North Hampshire area was informed of the 1961 report by Cripps and Stimson into radiation around the Greenham air base. [39877]

Mr. Horam

The Cripps and Stimson report of July 1961 was not included in the Committee on Medical Aspects of Radiation in the Environment investigation into the incidence of childhood cancer in the west Berkshire and north Hampshire area. This investigation, the results of which were published in COMARE's third report in 1989, was specifically related to the nuclear installations which were then known as the Atomic Weapons Research Establishment, Aldermaston, the Royal Ordnance factory, Burghfield, and the Atomic Energy Research Establishment, Harwell.
