HC Deb 22 July 1996 vol 282 c108W
Mr. Donohoe

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland when(a) health boards and (b) NHS trusts in Scotland will be in a position to publish their annual reports and accounts; and what instructions these bodies have been given about the time scale for publication of these documents. [38649]

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

Health boards are required to publish their annual reports by the end of October, and to include specific financial information in these reports. It is for each NHS trust to determine the timetable for publication of its annual report and accounts, but there is a statutory requirement on them to hold a public meeting to present audited accounts and annual reports not later than six months after their respective accounting dates.
