§ Mr. NewtonIn the financial year 1995–96, 44 hon. Members claimed for vehicles of 1300cc or less. The information relating to vehicles of less than 1000cc is not available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
§ Mr. Peter BottomleyTo ask the Lord President of the Council if he will estimate the difference since(a) the 1987 and (b) the 1992 general election between the actual cumulative out-of-London parliamentary salaries of hon. Members and the total assuming the salaries were to be at the level recommended by the review body on senior salaries reduced for previous years by the national movement in (i) earnings and (ii) prices.
