§ Mr. SproatThe Department's first deregulation order was made on 16 July 1996 and will come into force on 16 August 1996. It abolishes the existing statutory requirements for television dealers both to register with the BBC and to hold and pay a fee for a dealer demonstration licence. Dealers will still be required to notify all sales or rentals of television sets to the BBC.
