§ Mr. SoamesWith effect from 1 April 1996, the salaries of the chief constable and deputy chief constable, Ministry of Defence police, including any elements relating to performance will be determined in line with the provisions applying to the senior civil service.
Maximum and minimum values for salaries are as set out in the White Paper "Taking Forward Continuity and Change" and as stated by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister in his reply of 8 February, Official Report, columns 294–96.
