HL Deb 16 July 1996 vol 574 c51WA
Lord Lester of Herne Hill

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they intend to impose any restrictions on the form or content of the Annual Report of Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Prisons; and, if so, what the nature and scope of such restrictions will be.

Baroness Blatch

HM Chief Inspector of Prisons is required by statute to submit to my right honourable friend the Home Secretary in each year a report in such form as my right honourable friend may direct, and my right honourable friend is required to lay a copy of that report before Parliament. My right honourable friend has no plans to change these arrangements.
