HL Deb 15 July 1996 vol 574 c47WA
The Countess of Mar

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will confirm that there has been no significant increase in the incidence of scrapie amongst lowland sheep fed with high protein rations which included meat and bone-meal.

Lord Lucas

We have no records on the feeding practices of lowland sheep. Scrapie has been notifiable in sheep and goats in Great Britain since 1993. There is no evidence to suggest that the incidence of scrapie is increasing.
