To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what is his latest estimate as to when the current IGC will end. [35199]

There is no fixed timetable for the intergovernmental conference. But Heads of Government confirmed at the Florence European Council in June that the conference should end by mid-1997 if possible.
