§ Mrs. Angela KnightThe Treasury has no direct regulatory responsibilities for composite insurance companies as such. However, marketing of life business, including that of composite insurance companies, is regulated under the Financial Services Act 1986 for which the Treasury has policy responsibility. The main FSA98W regulators responsible for life business are the Securities and Investments Board, the Personal Investment Authority and the Insurance Brokers Registration Council.
