asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will place in the Library of the House copies of the oral and written evidence given by:

  1. (i) the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children;
  2. (ii) the Abortion Law Reform Association;
  3. (iii) David Steel MP (sponsor of the Abortion Act 1967); to the 1974 Lane Committee of Inquiry into the Operation of the Abortion Act.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Health (Baroness Cumberlege)

All evidence given to the 1974 Lane Committee on the Working of the Abortion Act was invited on the basis that it would be confidential to the Committee.
