§ Mr. David DavisWe welcome the decision by the conference on disarmament on 17 June to admit a further 23 states as members. This brings the total membership to 61.
The United Kingdom has long favoured the widest possible membership of the CD in order to promote universal adherence to arms control treaties.
Iraq is one of the new members.
