To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to his answer of 1 July,Official Report, column 351, how many fatalities and serious injuries were caused to (a) adults and (b) children in (i) Lancashire and (ii) the North West Regional Railways area for each year since 1990. [35692]

The Health and Safety Executive's railway inspectorate's accident statistics are not recorded by county, and due to a number of changes to regional railway boundaries since 1990, the information requested could be provided only at disproportionate cost.
